They not only beautify the urban environment, purify the air, and regulate the climate, but also play a carbon sink function. In this study, through the survey questionnaire and field sample survey method, the commonly used garden plants in the key garden areas of Shenyang were investigated and studied. The results showed that the garden plants in Shenyang are rich in species and have a high carbon sequestration potential. Among them, good garden plants include hawthorn, pine trees, etc.In addition, this article also preliminarily calculates and analyzes the carbon sequestration function of garden plants in Shenyang. The results show that garden plants in Shenyang have a high carbon sequestration capacity, and the amount of carbon sequestration is 20.3 million tons/year. However, there are also problems such as over-reliance on a single garden plant and a lack of variety.
