菊花的英语原来这么复杂！常见花的英文表达大集合

一提到花
相信大家都想到的是Flower
但除了Flower，表达“花”这个词儿的
还有Bloom和Blossom这两个单词
但可都是有区别的哦

Flower ：（n.）花
Bloom：（n.）鲜花盛开；健康的气色。
▷这个单词英文意思有“Coming into flower”开花和“Flourish”茂盛两个意思。主要指花的状态。
Blossom（n.）树或灌木的花，花簇
▷一般指树木开花，尤指果树上开的花。如：The oriental cherry is in full blossom. 樱花盛开。 又比如梅花Plum Blossom [plʌm ˈblɔsəm]等很多花卉的英文单词都会有Blossom这个词儿在里面。

1、Aroma:Refers to a strong, pervasive, pleasant odour, such as that given off by burnt good pipe tobacco, coffee, or appetizing food. 指一种强烈的、弥漫的香味，如烟叶、咖啡或美味食品的香味。
2、Scent: Refers to an odour, natural or artificial, delicate and often pleasant. 指天然或人造的淡淡幽香。
3、Perfume:Refers to a sweet smell esp. from an essence of flowers. 指香味，尤指由花精中所散发的香味。当然这个词儿也指香水啦~
4、Fragrance:Refers to a sweet or pleasant smell, and stresses a delicate smell from plants. 指甜美的香味，特指植物的清新香味。

One of the most well known Chinese flowers is the peony, which is considered a symbol of China itself, along with the plum blossom.
在中国最著名的花之一便是Peony（牡丹），和plum blossom（梅花）一起被视作中国的象征。
Chrysanthemumsalso appear frequently in Chinese art and flower displays, because they signify happiness, good luck, and long life. This meaning is also true in Japan.
Chrysanthemum（菊花）也是在中国艺术作品和花展中常见的一种花，因为他们象征着快乐、好运和长寿。这种含义和象征在日本也是一样。
Another frequent appearance in Chinese flower symbolism is the lotus, which has special meaning in Buddhism. Lotuses signify enlightenment and purity, since they rise from the mud to unfold into beauty.
另外一种十分常见的中国名花叫做lotus（莲花），它在佛教中有着特殊的含义。莲花象征着般若（悟）和纯洁，因为他们“出淤泥而不染，濯清涟而不妖”。
Bamboois also associated with enlightenment, with each segment representing a step in the path to enlightenment.
Bamboo（竹子）也与智慧有关，每一节竹子都代表了通往大智慧的“每一步阶梯”。
Carnationsare associated with marriage in China, as are orchids, which indicate fertility and abundance. Peaches are associated with longevity, and their blooms are considered sacred.
Carnation（康乃馨）在中国与婚姻有关，和orchid（兰花）一样，暗示了子孙满堂及家境富足。Peach（桃花）则与长寿有关，而他们的花瓣则被认为有神圣的力量。
A gift of narcissusindicates a desire for talent to flourish in the terms of Chinese flower symbolism, and it is considered an excellent present for someone embarking on a new career.
把narcissus（水仙花）当作礼物，在中国“花语”中喻示着事业兴旺，极适合用来送给那些开始职业新生涯的朋友。
Hydrangeasare said to suggest love, gratitude, and enlightenment, while the citronor Buddha's hand is given for luck and happiness.
Hydrangeas（八仙）是被认为用来表达爱、感激和智慧的，而citron（佛手桔）则被认为被赐予好运和福气的。
Mandarin orangeswith their leaves are also especially lucky, and they are often given out at Chinese New Year.
Mandarin oranges（橘子）和它们的叶子也喻示着好运，在春节时人们还有互相给橘子的习惯。
