广州合唱团是由广州市文化局委托广州市群众艺术馆于1998年3月组建的群众业余合唱团体，也是广州市群众艺术馆示范中心团队之一。团员主要来自广州市各机关、企事业单位和学校,其中包括机关干部、工程师和教师等。广州合唱团承担了广州市群众合唱艺术的普及、示范以及社会文化交流的工作，同时也积极致力于推动着本地区的合唱新作品的创作。首演了许多由知名作曲家创作和改编的，具有鲜明广东音乐特色的合唱作品，如《龙舟飞歌》、《平湖秋月》等。广州合唱团曾获得中华人民共和国文化部颁发的“全国合唱比赛”银奖；“中山火炬杯”中国合唱节银奖；在广东省“第五届百歌颂中华”合唱比赛中获金奖。
Guangzhou Chorus is a public amateur chorus organization set up in March, 1998 by the Municipal Public Arts Center under authorization of the Municipal Culture Bureau, and it is also one of example teams of Municipal Public Arts Center. It is chiefly composed by talented and accomplished members from organizations, enterprises, institutions and schools, including government cadres, engineers and teachers. Guangzhou Chorus has undertaken the work of popularization, demonstration as well as social cultural exchange of public chorus art in Guangzhou, and meanwhile it also positively devotes to pushing forward creation of new chorus works. It had debut performances of many chorus works of distinguished characteristics of Guangdong folk songs created or adapted by well-known composers such as Dragon Boat Fly Tone and Autumn Moon in West Lake. Guangzhou Chorus won silver award for "National Chorus Contest" issued by Ministry of Culture; won silver award for "Zhongshan City Torch Cup" in China Chorus Festival; won gold award in 5th chorus contest of "Hundred Songs Praising China" held in Guangdong Province.
