There are 1792 species of seed plants belonging to 146 families , including 29 rare and endangered plant species and 30 genera of endemic genera of China along with 248 vertebrate species , including 30 species of animals under state protection. The characteristics of the fauna and flora show the ancient of historical origin and the tran sition from temperate zone to subtropical zone. Certain pressing issues existed in the region are analysed and countermeasures for the future
