一朵凤丹
凤丹即杨山牡丹，曾被认为是牡丹下一个亚种，后独立为种，系中国特产。
其花色清美，绝不逊于牡丹；油用药用功能，却又别具一格。
凤凰与牡丹，均是古老中国文化意象。四月见其芬芳，有意将此与众人分享。
Paeonia ostii was considered to be a subspecies of Paeonia suffruticosa, which is originated from China and now identified as a new species in Flora of China. the flower is delicate and elegant as all the other peonies, while also has great value of medicine and oil.
I’ve seen these flowers blooming while preparing for the illustration, and they really fascinated me. So I painted them with the purpose to show the glory of this special plant, who may also prove some meanings of the traditional Chinese culture, about the beauty of ‘phoenix’ and ‘peony’.
