A Comparative Study on the Flower Language In China and the West

摘要

花，一种植物，与人的生活息息相关。花语展现人们的思想感情，美好的事物及宗教背景，是中西方文化中重要的部分。本文基于花语的理论研究及一些典型例子，仔细研究中西方不同的花语，通过比较花语异同与分析相关原因，给予文化阐释并研究花语的价值。通过分析与比较，作者发现中西方享有大量花语，但有些不同。本文既有利于人们学习有关花的文化与思想，还在跨文化交际和日常生活中有实用意义。

Abstract

Flower, which is closely related to human life, is a kind of plant in nature. The flower language, reflecting human thought, human feelings, beautiful things and religious background, is an important part of Chinese and western culture. Based on theoretical study of flower language and some typical examples, this paper carries out a careful examination of different flower language in China and the west. By means of comparing the similarities and differences of flower language and analyzing related reasons, the paper attempts to give cultural explanations and explore the value of flower language. Through analysis and comparisons, the author finds that China and the west share a great deal of flower language, but they are different to some degree. The paper not only helps people to learn the culture and thought about flowers, but also has practical implications in cross-cultural communication and daily life.
