C(4)              。                      。                 。    :      ;   ;      Coleon C and other compounds from COLEUS FORSKOHLII BRIQ. inhibited the proliferation of human carcinoma 2 Abstract, In a project to investigate plant derived natural products from the Coleus forskohlii Briq. with anticancer activity, we have identified three new metabolites. The metabolite were assigned as coleonic Acid, 11-one, 13-methyl, 8(9),13(14)Z-labdadien-15-acid(1) ; coleolic Acid,11-ol, 13-methyl, 8(9),13(14)Z-labdadien-15-acid(2) ,and colexanthone,1-oxymethyl-3,5 hydroxyl-7-methyl xanthone(3) by extensive 1- and 2D NMR spectroscopy. The anticancer active principle of this plant was the coleon C(4) which exhibited ED 50values ranging from 1.2–7.0μg/ml against different strains of human cancer cells . Coleon C(4)induced human cancer cells apoptosis and inhibited tumor growth. in vivo Keywords: Coleus forskohlii Briq; anticancer; apoptosis; coleon C 1.
