植物生物信息学课题组主要研究方向为生物信息学、计算系统生物学、植物基因组学。 主要研究内容为以特色农业资源植物为研究对象,以生物大数据为材料,针对植物基因组学分析的技术瓶颈和科学问题,开发和利用基于数学建模、统计分析、机器学习和人工智能等理论和方法的生物信息学工具和软件,开展特色农业资源植物重要农艺性状的形成机理和生长发育调控机制研究,阐明特色农业资源植物优质高产高抗的分子调控机制,为特色高值农业种质创新和遗传育种提供重要理论支持。相关研究成果在Briefings in Bioinformatics、Bioinformatics、Nucleic Acids Research、BMC Plant Biology、Plants、 PNAS、Plant Biotechnology Journal、Nature Genetics等国际期刊上。学科组目前主持承担项目10余项,已发表SCI论文40余篇。

2014年获中国科学院大学(中国科学院昆明动物研究所)理学博士学位,2014年-2016年在中国科学院水生生物研究所从事博士后研究工作,2017年7月就职中国科学院武汉植物园。主要从事基于大数据的生物信息学分析研究,包括植物RNA编辑的演化与功能、基因家族和基因组变化对植物适应性影响等相关研究。目前已在BMC Plant Biology、Plants、iScience、Plant Biotechnology Reports、Plant Biotechnology Journal、BMC Bioinformatics等期刊发表SCI论文21篇,其中以第一作者/通讯作者发表论文11篇;主持国家自然科学基金青年项目1项,参与国家自然科学基金3项。
